Australian International 3 Day Event

Internationally successful eventing rider, Stuart Tinney has two rides in the HSBC CCI Four Star competition and is pictured with John and Jane Pittard's impressive Daley K gelding, 'Pluto Mio' during the trot up.

Sophie Adams leads the Logan Floats CICTwo Star competition following her dressage test riding the Waratah Equestrian Centre's French bred, 'Mercator du Ry' by Brett Saint Clair, with a score of 45 penalty points.

Soigne Jackson is dressed for the weather as she presents her lovely Thoroughbred, 'Gold' for the HSBC CCI Four Star trot up. The Four Star dressage day is predicted to be very hot, around 37 degrees, with a cool chance overnight and 25 on cross country day.

Jaimie Stichel rode her beautiful Thoroughbred gelding by Grosvenor, 'Pentonville Grove' to hold eighth place after the dressage phase of the Logan Floats CIC Two Star dressage phase with 58.40.

The very dapper Italian rider, Fabio Magni trios up for his second Adelaide Three day Event. Magni is pictured at the HSBC Four Star trot up with the former Stuart Tinney mount, 'Watermark Grayson' that is now owned by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture.

The Deloitte Australian International Three Day Event is nothing without shopping and there is plenty of it in the trade village that is mostly situated under the trees surrounding the renovated Victoria park Grandstand.

The irrepressable farmer from WA, Sonja Johnson is also an Olympic team Silver Medal winner. The last time we saw Sonja was at the Melbourne Three day Event in June and she was on crutches. Looking particularly fir, Sonja is pictured during the Bates Australian CCI Two Star aboard Rebecca and Simon Bell's Australian Stock Horse, 'Belfast Mojito' that is by Blackwood Mikado. After half the competition they hold fifth place.

Jessica Manson from WA is pictured riding her own Thoroughbred x Australian Stock Horse by Ringwould Legality, 'Legal Star' in the Bates Australia CCI Two Star dressage phase.

Here but Horseless. Heath Ryan watches the CCI Two Star dressage phase with what must be mixed feelings. Heath had his wonderful 'Mystery Whisper' entered in the HSBC Four Star competition, but we have been told that the home bred horse by Richmeed Medallion out of a Salute mare has been sold to the USA. This has not as yet been confirmed by Heath, but we have heard on good authority twice.

Annabel Armstrong is pictured performing her Bates CCI Two Star Dressage riding her Thoroughbred/WB/Australian Stock Horse, 'Bubble and Squeak by Sterling Sprite in front of the Victoria Park Grandstand. They hold provisional sixth place with half the competition having completed their test.

Coming all the way from Western Australia is like travelling across several European countries. Benjamin Leahy is pictured riding Sonja Johnson's 'Le Directeur' by Le Greer in the Bates Australian CCI Two Star dressage phase. Half the CCI Two Star competition went today and the remaining half will do their dressage tomorrow along with the 31 starters in the HSBC Four Star competition.

Back where we began. The Adelaide Three Day Event began at Victoria Park and now in its 14th edition and sponsored by Deloitte, the Adelaide International Three Day Event, just recently named a member of the prestigious HSBC Classics Series is back in front of the main Victoria Park Grandstand. Logan Floats CIC Two Star competitor, Kristy Wosik is pictured aboard her 'General Po' during the dressage phase in front of the restored grandstand.

Kate Rogers is pictured during the dressage phase of the Logan Floats CICTwo Star dressage phase riding her 'Night Shift'. They are in tenth place heading in to the cross country phase on Saturday.

It is great to see Wayne Roycroft back riding, even if it is a bike. It would certainly not be an Adelaide Three day Event without Wayne.

Let's hope that Megan Jones and her wonderful 'Kirby Park Irish Jester' remain in step all weekend. The Beijing Silver Team Medalists are back in action after Jester had a horror trip to Kentucky last year. Former winners, they are sure to be keen to assert themselves once again at the top of the sport.
