The Deloitte Australian International Three Day Event is nothing without shopping and there is plenty of it in the trade village that is mostly situated under the trees surrounding the  renovated Victoria park Grandstand.

The irrepressable farmer from WA, Sonja Johnson is also an Olympic team Silver Medal winner. The last time we saw Sonja was at the Melbourne Three day Event in June and she was on crutches. Looking particularly fir, Sonja is pictured during the Bates Australian CCI Two Star aboard Rebecca and Simon Bell's Australian Stock Horse, 'Belfast Mojito' that is by Blackwood Mikado. After half the competition they hold fifth place.

Here but Horseless. Heath Ryan watches  the CCI Two Star dressage phase with what must be mixed feelings. Heath had his wonderful 'Mystery Whisper' entered in the HSBC Four Star competition, but we have been told that the home bred horse by Richmeed Medallion out of a Salute mare has been sold to the USA. This has not as yet been confirmed by Heath, but we have heard on good authority twice.

Let's hope that Megan Jones and her wonderful 'Kirby Park Irish Jester' remain in step all weekend. The Beijing Silver Team Medalists are back in action after Jester had  a horror trip to Kentucky last year. Former winners, they are sure to be keen to assert themselves once again at the top of the sport.
