2012 Sydney International Three Day Event

David Dobson was obviously relieved to see some sunny weather in Sydney. David travelled from Western Australia to compete at shows in Mt Gambier and Sydney. The show last week was cancelled due to the wet weather. David is pictured riding his 'Claremont' in the Six Year Old Young Jumping Horse class.

Nineteen year old New Zealand rider,Bridget Hansen is pictured aboard her home bred, 'Spotnik' NZPH during the Six Year Old young Jumping Horse class. Bridget rode Shakespeare NZPH to third place in the class.

Successful Victorian rider, Jess Barton is pictured making a stylish jump aboard her 'Volador' by Vivant during the Over The Top Six Year Old Young Jumping Horse class.

Stuart Tinney, keen to have more than one horse on the London Olympic Eventing list is pictured riding John and Jane Pittard's, Daley K gelding,' Pluto Mio' in the dressage phase of the Sydney CIC Three Star. After day one Stuart and Pluto Mio are in sixth place with a score of 49.40.

Olympic hopeful, Emma Mason is pictured with her own and Melody O'Toole's elegant, Salute gelding, 'F1 Pharinelli'. After the dressage phase of the CIC Three Star they lie in fifth place with a score of 47.60.

Christine Bates is back in action after a tough trip to NZ. Christine is pictured riding the beautiful, 'Adelaide Hill' by Stirling Sprite in the dressage phase of the Sydney CIC Three Star competition. They head in to the cross country phase tomorrow in eleventh place with 51.60.

Tyson King is pictured aboard another grey stallion, 'Pyree Ego Z' during the Over The Top Five Year Old Young Jumping horse class.

Megan Jones is pictured aboard her own and Lauren Poulson's Thoroughbred by Rustic Amber, 'Kirby Park Allofasudden' putting their best foot forward during the dressage phase of the Sydney CIC Three Star.They hold third place heading in to the cross country phase tomorrow with a score of 44.20.

Successful young rider Monique Barrett from Penrith won the Five Year Old Young Jumping Horse class, judged on closest to optimum time in the jump off riding her Falkrich mare, 'CP Fleur de Lyse'.

Charlie Brister is pictured riding his Irish Sport Horse, 'Barrel of Fun' by Kilharken in the dressage phase of the Sydney CIC Three Star competition.

Although Sonja Johnson and Nikki Brooks' , 'Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison' looks very dainty, he is a tough, talented and athletic performer. Sonja came to Sydney from WA very much with the idea of securing her Olympic Team place. They sit in equal 11th place after the dressage with 51.60.

Shane Rose has his Olympic selection pretty much resting on his performance at Sydney with Johnnie Walker's 'Taurus'. The warmblood/ASH comes to Sydney having won the Kihikihi Three Day Event in NZ just a matter of weeks ago. Shane and Taurus got off to the best possible start by leading the field after the dressage with a score of 40.60.

Tallara Barwick is pictured aboard her talented, 'Copabella Verdi' by Copabella Visage during the Five Year Old Young Jumping Horse class on the first of three action packed days at SIEC. Jumping in the Indoor, Jumping down an the grass behind the stables and Eventing Dressage on Arenas Two and Seven.

Natalie Blundell is another experienced rider to have her heart set on a Team trip to London. She is pictured during the dressage phase of the CIC Three Star riding John Glenn and Julie McLean's well performed Thoroughbred, 'Algebra' by Azzaam.They are currently in ninth place with 51.20.

Craig Barrett too has a London trip on his mind with Henry and Helen Hicks' Melbourne Three Star winner, the Thoroughbred , Wendela Jamie'. After the CIC Three Star dressage phase, they hold eighth place with 50.40.

Tom McDermott and the Tripp Family's, 'Romantic Dream' literally look forward to a successful weekend of jumping. Tom and "Pinky' would be at short odds to win the World Cup Qualifier Jumping class on Sunday.

Jamie Kermond rode Kerrie Winning's well named, 'Yandoo Constellation' (you can see the heavens atop this horse) to third place in the class for Five Year Old Young Jumping Horses. Constellation was bred by the Oaks Sport Horses and is by the imported and exported Australian Sporthorse stallion, Conquistador.

Victorian rider Angela Dobbin is pictured aboard her home bred Thoroughbred, 'Glenwood Park Mystery' by Woodmount Crusader out of Black Betty during the Over The Top Five Year Old Young Jumping Horse competition.

Hilary Scott is pictured aboard the lovely, Oaks Paris Texas' by Littorio out of the super, imported Oaks mare, Oakes Pro Ratina, during the class for Five Year Old Young Jumping Horses.

Chris Chugg with the new, imported Diamond B stallion, 'Baluga' by Balou du Rouet, was one of the draw cards during the Five Year Old Young Jumping Horse competition held out on the Hack arena at SIEC on the first day of three days of jumping and Eventing competition at the Sydney Olympic site.

Jess Brown and the lovely home bred mare, 'Equus Lace' by Lux out of a Genghis Khan/Dusky Hunter mare, make a beautiful jump during the Five Year Old Young Jumping Horse class.

Professor of medicine, Brad Frankum made a welcome return to the ring and is pictured riding his Sir Tristram bred,Cosmo' in the Five Year Old Young Jumping Horse class. Brad purchased Cosmo from Eventing star, Shane Rose about 12 months ago.
