Sonja would have been pleased with the typey horse that is a relative newcomer to Three Star competition. Sonja added nothing to her dressage score riding Nikki Brooks' Olympic hopeful, 'Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison' that finished the Equestrian NSW CCI Three Star in sixth place with 51.60.
Victorian rider and former Olympic Team selector, Seumas Marwood jumped a super final jumping round for the addition of just one time penalty riding his talented Contango II mare,'Wild Oats'. They finished the Equestrian Australia CCI Three Star in 11th place.
Natalie Blundell put in a confident performance riding Julia McLean and John Glenn's talented Throughbred,'Algebra' to have just one rail in the final jumping phase of the Equestrian Australia CCI Three Star, to take eighth place.

Fifth after the dressage, Emma Mason and 'F1 Pharinelli' added just a few time penalties to take fourth place in the Equestrian Australia CCI Three Star competition. Even though the time penalties proved costly, they produced a strong performance under stressful selection conditions and the effort will not have gone unnoticed with those choosing the Team for London.
Megan Jones as always had a successful day at the office. She is pictured riding Lauren Paulson's, Kirby Park Alongside' that took fourth place in the Equestrian Australia CCI Three Star competition. Earlier in the day Megan won the Requital Excel CIC One Star riding her home bred, 'Kirby park Irish Empress', that finished on her dressage score of 42.50.
With just one jumping rail to add, Emma Scott and 'Mustang' slipped from second after the cross country to final third place in the CCI Three Star competition. They finished with the same score, 50.40 as Emma Mason and F1 Pharinelli and were separated by the closest to optimum cross country time, with the higher place going to Scott and Mustang, who completed the cross country in 10.10 seconds, with Mason and Pharinelli taking four seconds longer, completing the course in 10.14 seconds. The competition amongst the top few was that close.
A win at Sydney meant a lot to Shane Rose and 'Taurus', with a possible trip to the London Olympics up for grabs. Shane did what he came to do and won the CCI Three Star competition with Jonnie Walker's Warmblood/ASH. The popular pair gave the attentive crowd a couple of anxious moments when they used up the two rails they had in hand, but it was a strong performance under pressure, more pressure than actually competing at the Games.
Experienced Western Australian rider, David Dobson was at short odds to claim the Greater Sydney World Cup Qualifier with his Equitana 2011 Grand Prix winner, 'Akon'. And he very nearly did, jumping two super clear rounds over debutante World Cup designer, Brad Longhurst's testing and entertaining track. However, they had to settle for second place on time. The World Cup proved to be an impressive quinella for WA.

Tom Mc Dermott is pictured with the winner of the 1.45m One Round class yesterday, 'CP Rolex'. They are pictured over the narrow, style like fence across the arena at number 11 that caused a little trouble early. Tom and WC nominated Roly posted one of five first round clears, but fell from the placings with two down in the second round. However, all was not lost with recent Sydney World Cup class winner, CP Romantic Dream jumping four and clear to take third place in the Greater Sydney World Cup Qualifier.
Sheridan Manuel jumped clear and eight riding his mother, Lisa's talented and colourful, 'Renmarno'. They were also at short odds to win the class , as they had good form winning the Wodonga World Cup Qualifier last year. Today however, they had to settle for seventh place.
Chris Chugg and his Vivant mare, 'Diamond B Vigo' look to be flying over this fence in the World Cup Qualifier. Vigo, relatively green at this level, jumped a good four and four in a modest time to take eighth place. Earlier, Chris rode Michelle Barrera's wonderful Indoctro mare, 'Alondra' to jump four and clear to take fourth place
Hilary Scott and 2011 Tonimbuk indoor World Cup winner, 'Oaks Miss Scarlet' are really developing as a classy Grand Prix combination. The imported mare jumped four and clear for fifth place on time in the Greater Sydney World Cup Qualifier.
It looks as if experienced WA rider, Alison Rowland again has a horse of really international quality. Alison bred 'Bickley Brook Bella' with co owners, Nicol Taylor and Peter Cooke. The nine year old mare is by Premier des Hayettes out of Alisons former B Grade mare, Sienna. Patience has proved a virtue, with Alison biding her time with the talented mare, and today it was time for them to step up and claim their first World Cup win at only their third start. They jumped two seemingly effortless clear rounds to claim the Greater Sydney World Cup Qualifier by 0.41 of a second.
Tim Boland and teh beautiful, 'GV Billy Elliott' made up for the 7.2 cross country time penalties by posting one of the three jumping clear rounds to finish the Equestrian NSW CCI Three Star in second place with 50.20.
