Stuart Tinney and 'Vettori' make a beautiful jump over the first in the final jumping phase of the Eventing World Cup. Stuart's eyes are up and already looking for the next fence and Vettori is responding with a lovely, careful jump. Their clear round moved them from sixth place after the cross country to fourth place overall.
2010 Eventing World Cup winners,Christopher Burton and 'Holstein Park Leilani' finished on their dressage score, 45.9 to take second place in the class this year. Christopher is another of our talented young riders planing a trip overseas with a team of horses.
It is impossible to take a bad photograph of Clarke Johnstone's 'Orient Express'. The beautiful Thoroughbred gelding by Blues Traveller was third in this class last year and the New Zealand combination have had a sensational year since. They were members of the WEG Eventing Bronze Medal Team and just a month ago won the New Zealand Eventing World Cup at Kihikihi. They finished on their dressage score 45.4 to pull off an impressive Southern Hemisphere double. They too are off to Europe in a matter of weeks.
Shane Rose led from the outset riding Jonnie Walker's typey and talented, Warmblood 'Taurus', by Aaries. It is dufficult to imagine from this photograph, but they had two fences down in this final and always influential phase to slip to third place. However, it is early days yet for this talented horse and we are sure to see much more of him in the winners circle in the future.
