2012 Adelaide International 3 Day Event

Lauren Browne from Bindoon in WA added just cross country time penalties and one jumping rail to her dressage score, to take eighth place in the Horseland CCI Two Star, riding the talented Quarter Horse, 'Dakota Ultra Easy' by Doc's Kool Widower.

Robert Palm rode his own, 'Visual Laughter' (which may be by Copabella Visage) to add just cross country time penalties to their dressage score to claim fifth place with 58.50.

Isabel English rode her talented Thoroughbred/Connemara by Glenormiston Praise, 'Feldale Mouse' to take second place in the Australian Young Rider Championship and ninth place in the Horseland CCI Two Star.

Jamie Stichel from Charleston in SA won the Australian Young Rider Eventing Championship riding her talented Irish Sport Horse, 'Image Blue Ice' that is a full brother to the stallion, He's Patrick, being by Kirby Park Iris Jordan out of the Mikado mare,Manadale Sayanora. They took fourth place in the Horseland CCI Two Star, that incorporated the Young Rider Championship, finishing on their dressage score, 58.00.

Elizabeth Lowery is pictured aboard her Thoroughbred by Hurricane Sky, 'KL Kismet' on their way to 12th place in the Horseland CCI Two Star competition.

Kirsty Douglas and her Irish Sport Horse, 'Cushavon Crackerjack' by Conqueror King moved from seventh to third place in the Horseland CCI Two Star with a faultless round in the final jumping phase.

Bella Mowbray and 'Star Vision' make a lovely jump during the final phase of the Horseland CCI Two Star competition. They moved from 22nd place after the dressage to tenth place overall.

Cooper Oborn is pictured aboard, Margaret Oliver's lovely stallion, 'He's Patrick'. The name gives him away as being by Irish Sport Horse stallion, Kirby Park Irish Jordan out of a Mikado Thoroughbred mare. They had an unlucky two rails in the final jumping phase to take sixth place in the Horseland CCI Two Star.

Queensland rider, Natalie Siiankoski jumped a super clear showjumping round to finish on her dressage score, 53.10, to take second place in the Horseland CCI Two Star riding her 17.2hh Thoroughbred, 'Smart Show Off' by Shedad.

Cross country riding has nothing on this. The Double Dans were a popular entertainment at the Adelaide International Horse Trials this year and this picture explains why, as one of the Dans makes a leap of faith.

Shane Rose was again awarded the Anna Savage Memorial Award for the Best and Fairest Rider of the Year as judged by his peers. Anna died tragically a number of years ago following a fall eventing. She was a well respected and talented rider and always an example to her fellow riders. Shane is pictured with Anna's mother, Pam Savage. Earlier in the day Shane withdrew his leading 2* horse, CP Qualified before the final vet inspection.

With Shane Rose having to withdraw CP Qualified before the Sunday morning vet inspection, Will Enzinger stepped in to CCI Two Star pole position. He made the most of his opportunity with Georgia Connelly's typey and talented Metall gelding,'Flowervale Maserati' to win with a total of 52 penalties. The popular Victorian rider is pictured acknowledging the applause of the big and enthusiastic crowd.

Andrew Cooper from Wagga Wagga in NSW and his Hanoverian gelding by Gymnastik Star, 'Guest Of Honour' head down the treble combination in front of the historic Victoria Park Grandstand. They finished seventh in the HSBC Four Star competition.

Victorian, Crystal Conning and her wonderful Thoroughbred, 'Marcus Aurelius' are pictured in full flight during the HSBC CCI Four Star showjumping phase. They took sixth place in the HSBC Four Star competition.

Keira Byrnes' 'Fox Hill' a talented Thoroughbred by Savage Toss and former Horse Deals Off The Track subject really impressed over the Adelaide HSBC competition. They took fifth place in the CCI Four Star.

HSBC Four Star debutante, Jessica Mason from Milledon in WA out lasted some of her more experienced peers to ride her Stock Horse cross, 'Legal Star' by Ringwould Legality. They took fourth place in the HSBC CCI Four Star.

Victorian Murray Lamperd rode his beautiful ex racehorse,'Under The Clocks' by Woodborough to third place in the HSBC Adelaide CCI Four Star.

Natalie Blundell jumped the only round under the time allowed over John Vallance's testing track aboard Julia McLean's super, 'Algebra'. The usually careful Thoroughbred by Azzaam lowered two rails to finish the HSBC CCI Four Star in second place with 67.8 penalties.

The entertaining Double Dans kept the party atmosphere going on the final day of the HSBC Adelaide International Horse Trials.

London Olympic Team Member and Principle of Southern Stars Saddlery, Clayton Fredericks needs no encouragement to do it "Gangham Style". Clayton has established a training facility in Florida USA and has accepted the position of Canadian National Coach.

"Wish me luck as you wave me good bye". Megan Jones and 'Kirby Park Irish Jester' are pictured in classic style. Jester was showing the adoring crowd that he may be officially retiring, but there is plenty of life in him yet. Later the international Eventing star was unsaddled and led out of the arena, with not a dry eye in the house.

There are some famous names on this trophy first given to the Advanced winner at the Gawler Three Day Event. The Jack Walsh Trophy is given now to the winner of the Adelaide CCI Four Star competition.

Adelaide International Horse Trials Event Director, and "she who must be obeyed", Gill Rolton. Gill is the driving force behind the Adelaide Event and without her it would not happen.

A glamorous Wendy Schaeffer, a former CCI Four Star winner and Atlanta Olympic Team Gild Medalist, was present to present the Sunburst Trophy to the winner of the Four Star.Many lamented that Wendy did not have a horse in the competition.

Megan Bryant is pictured aboard her lovely, 'Talinga Cavalier' an Australian Stock Horse by Kirkby's Major during the showjumping phase of the Horseland CCI Two Star competition. Last weekend Megan was competing in the dressage Grand prix at Equitana.

Nicky Turner paid dearly for a stop across country riding her delightful and talented Thoroughbred, 'Carson Hill', however she will go home more than pleased with the horse after posting a super clear jumping round, one of just six from 35 to attempt the CCI Two Star jumping phase.
