2010 Adelaide Royal Show

Linda Hayes rode her own, Darryl Hayes and Carmen Nowak's lovely working, 'Kolbeach Aster' to take second place in the class for Open Pony Hack 13-13.2hh first up this morning. Linda had rather and embarrassment of riches for the Championship ride off with more than one pony in contention for the major awards. Linda asked Margot Haynes (a seriously good catch rider) to ride Aster if need be for the Reserve award. Well Margot was needed and what's more claimed the Late R Barr Smith Prize for Reserve Champion Large Pony.

Charlotte 'Charlie' Hunt rode the Argyl Stud's 'Kolbeach Finest' to third place in the strong class for Open Pony Hack 13-13.2hh. Later in the day Finest took out the class for Pony Hack Mare 12.2-14hh.

Chanel Hunter from Victoria rode Lyn Warburton's well performed and good working, 'Kolbeach Class' to win the strong class for Open Pony Hack 13-13,2hh. In the evening Chanel produced the goods. and gave a wonderful display to claim the Sanlirra Stud Prize for Champion Large Pony Hack.

Sarah Hurrell rode her 'Alladar' to third place in the junior Jump Off class this morning.

Rebecca Burns is pictured making a big effort with her ,'Fourwinds Power Pak' on their way to fifth place in the Junior Jump Off class this morning.

Samara Johnson produced a super jump off round riding her experienced, 'Singleminded' to win the Junior class this morning.

Well known and successful South Australian Harness competitor, Anne Lindh drove her own, 'Beauwood Maxi' (leading) and 'Penndower Protea' to win the S Kidman and Co. prize for Tandem Team for Horses, Galloways and Ponies.

A busy Grace Hill rode Michelle Labahn's lovely, 'Rothwell Fairy Dance' to take second place in the class for Open Pony Hack 12.2-13hh.

Chelsea Morelli stepped out with her well performed, 'Raleigh Picture Perfect' to win the class for Open Pony Hack 12.2-13hh.

Angela Forster stepped out with Samantha Kennedy's big moving, 'Courtalia Park Sarnau' to take fifth place in the class for Open Pony 12.2-13hh.

It is wonderful to see Victorian harness queen, Elsa Avery back in the ring after a nasty spill some months ago. Elsa is pictured driving her 'Acheron Midnight' to victory in the John Potton Memorial class for Non Hackney 13-14hh.

Marjorie Walter, ably assisted by husband and groom, Geoff, (good delegation of duty there) drove her 'Fleur de Lys Manceni' to second place in the John Potton memorial class for Non Hackney 13-14hh.

Thomas Struck from Port Augusta in SA won the class for Boy Rider 14-18 Years.

Sally Shaw is having a wonderful Royal. Earlier in the show Sally won the class for Girl Rider 10 -12 Years and today worked well to claim the Junior Rider (Under 14 Years) Reserve Championship.

Victorian rider, Katie Ajani rode well to win the class for Girl Rider 13-14 Years and today claimed the 2010 Adelaide Royal Junior Rider Championship from a very strong lineup.

Tori Fair from Drysdale in Victoria is another busy young rider. She won the class for Girl Rider 8-10 Years and is pictured during the Junior Rider Championship.

Brandon Douglas from NSW won the class for Boy Rider 10-14 Years and put on a good show in the strong Junior Rider Championship competition.

Daizi Plumb, winner of the class for Girl or Boy Rider 5-8 Years has become a regular in the Junior Rider Championship line up and it looks as if the talented youngster is going to stay there for many years to come.

Alice McEvoy was second in the strong class for Girl Rider 13-14 Years.

Karen Polley took out the Supreme Led Shetland Pony award with her 'Wormangel Park Silver Dollar' (Woodview Justin/Chateau Gay Gazelle) and went on to prove the handsome stallion is more than just a show pony, as this photograph attests.

Well known South Australian Jumping rider, Anthony Thomas rode his 'Classic Oman' with plenty of dash to win the Hit and Hurry class in the Speed Jumping section.

Lia Blacket's 'Regal Romance of Class' (Willowcroft Regal Emblem/Drewlynd) was declared Champion Australian Saddle Pony Mare/Filly.

Greg Mickan did the honours with J Lumsden and Michelle Kelsey's 'Melody Park Kings Command' (Maximus of Astral/MP English Rose) that was declared Champion Australian Saddle Pony Stallion/Colt and Supreme Australian Saddle Pony Exhibit.

Young South Australian rider, Jasmine Anderson acknowledges the well deserved applause as she parades as winner of the Dorothy Mansom-Gray Memorial Trophy for the Good Hands Championship for Girls and Boys 12 Years and Under.

Kate Schlichting makes s super jump aboard her 'Olivers Puzzle' during the unscheduled Group 3 class this afternoon which had been postponed due to the stormy weather on Saturday afternoon.

Gemma Creighton makes a lovely jump aboard 'It's Jealousy' during the Group 3 class this afternoon. The successful young Queensland rider has a busy schedule with horses in Group 3, the Speed section and the Junior Section.

Joanne Prestwidge from NSW rode Anne Dawn's lovely 'Oakvale Music Box' to win the class for Open Pony Hack 13.2-14hh.

Margot Haynes rode Chris Lawrie and Angie Penalurick's 2009 National Champion Large Pony, 'Kolbeach be Free' to take third place in the very strong class for Open Pony Hack 13.2-14hh.

Linda Hayes rode her own and Darryl Hayes' 'Kolbeach Chance' to win the class for Pony Hack Gelding 12.2-14hh.

Madalyn Waugh rode her super experienced, 'Falconhurst First Class' to sixth place in the class for Open Pony Hack 13.2-14hh. The 13 year old pony proved that once a show pony, always a show pony.
