Mark Lilley is pictured with Sally and Deyarne Pointon-Wales, 'Springtime Park Opening Night'. The lovely pony by Rotherwood Footlight out of Springtime Park Cherry Lane won the class for Australian Saddle Pony Stallion/Colt Under 13hh.

Brandon Douglas took second place in the class for Boy Riders 10-12 Years and went on to be declared Champion Junior Boy Rider.

A lovely pair of home bred medium harness horses. Shane Keir drives the Keir Family's Canberra Park Stepalong Scotty (on the near side) and Canberra Park Stepalong Generald. Scotty went on to be declared Reserve Champion Single Heavy/Medium Horse in Harness. Accompanying Shane are, on the drivers's right, Steve Webb and on the left, rather obscured, John Scott. And that's Travis Park Illusion being taken for the ride.

Melissa Jones drove a newcomer to the Keir Family team, 'Canberra Park Velvet Queen' to take out the Non Hackney Harness Horse Reserve Championship.

Bryson Bensley drove the Bensley family's 'Stillbrook Tabitha' to take out the Non Hackney Harness Horse Championship.

Blake Paulston won the class for Boy Rider 10 and under 12 Years and went on to be declared Champion Junior Boy Rider.

Warwick Southern from Thallon in Queensland won the class for Boy Rider Eight and Under Ten Years.

Getting more handsome with each passing year. Despite being just 15, Christopher Ware has been a constant at the Ekka for quite a few years. He won the class for Boy Riders 15 and under 17 Years and went on to be declared Champion Senior Boy Rider.

Anthony Mountney did the honours with the Willowcroft Stud's, 'Willowcroft Socialite'. The lovely mare by Oakvale Serenade out of Willowcroft Regal Ribbons won the strong class for Australian Saddle Pony Mare 12-13.2hh.

Cody Baird took second place in the class for Boy Rider 12 ans under 15 Years.

The very successful Thomas Madigan from Mackay took third place in the class for Boy Rider 12 and under 15 Years.

Sam Evans won the class for Boy Rider 12 and under 15 Years and went on to be declared Reserve Champion Senior Boy Rider.

Long time Ekka exhibitor, Elva Christensen is pictured with her 'Bradyvale French Kiss' (Syon Royal Portrait/Elated Chorus). The typey mare won the Australian Saddle Pony Mare 13.2-14.2hh and went on to claim the Australian Saddle Pony Mare Championship.

Sue O'Brien from Elimbah is seen at full throttle with her good Light Harness horse, 'Obees Superstition'.

Ashleigh Kearney took second place in the class for Girl Riders 12 and under 15 Years.

Charlee Anthony took fourth place in the class for Girl Riders 12 and under 15 Years.

The Carbery Estate's wonderful Percheron, 'Carbery Estate Masterflame', driven by Mark Dollarhunty, was declared Champion Heavy/Medium Harness Horse.

Angela Kyle took fifth place in the class for Girl Riders 15 and under 17 Years.

Courtney King took third place in the class for Girl Riders 15 and under 17 Years.

Cassnadra Schmidt rode well to take fourth place in the class for Girl Riders 15 and under 17 Years.

Courtney Rabjones took second place in the strong class for Girl Riders 15 and under 17 years.

Beau Cunning won the class for Girl Riders 15 and under 17 Years and went on to be declared Champion Senior Girl Rider. She is pictured with judge, Bronwyn McPherson and award presenter, Tom Edwards.

Brook Higgins won the class for Girl Riders 12 and under 15 Years and went on to be declared Reserve Champion Senior Girl Rider.

Frank Green is much more than one of Horse Deals' favourite cowboys, he is a talented horseman, and as this photo will attest, showman. Frank, the one with the whip, and Brett Townsend riding very accommodating bulls, Jimmy and Monty, can certainly manage to keep the lunchtime crowd entertained at the Ekka.

Georgie Southern was one of the many delighted and excited youngsters to contest the Junior Riding classes today. Georgie was a ribbon winner in the class for Girl Riders Three and under Six Years.

Ivy Pointon-Wales with some help from mum, Deyarne, was one of the delighted ribbon winners in the class for Girl Riders Three and under Six Years.

Tom Lenihan drove the Lenihan Family's Champion Non Hackney Harness Pony, 'Mariposa Tradesman'.

Bridgette Chalmers won the class for Girl Riders 10 and under 12 Years and went on to be declared Champion Junior Girl Rider.

Kira Lee Newman was second in the class for Girl Riders 10 and under 12 Years and went on to claim the Reserve Champion Award.
