The George Family's beautiful, 'Rathowen Scarlet Ribbons' Courtland Boy Blue (Imp.)/Rathowen Russet) ran away with Nathan Birrell to claim the Mare Championship and the Supreme Riding Pony Award. Scarlet Ribbons also took out the Supreme Award in 2007.

The delight in matching youth with experience is clearly in evidence in this photograph. Annabell Johnstone wisely chose the experienced, 'Riverlea Duncan' as three year old daughter, Bella's Turnout mount. And no pony comes more experienced than the 23 year old Duncan, that in his youth cut a very dashing figure, claiming the Champion Led Shetland Award at Brisbane. Although his Led years are well behind him, Duncan has spent a lifetime teaching new riders the ropes. After a sojourn in Victoria with the Cleland family, Duncan is back home teaching a new generation. A delighted Bella won the class for Shetland Turnout for Girls/Boys Under Six Years.

Brett Warren won the first Group B class of the show riding his Lander gelding, 'Amici' (pictured). Brett also took second place riding the imported 'Cheezy Z' by Cathago Z.
Shane Davidson, a talented dressage and jumping rider took third place in the first Group B class of the show this afternoon. Shane rode his beautiful stallion, 'Fairbanks Cathago', eminently bred to jump, being by Indoctro and out of a Grannus II mare. The first three placegetters jumped a double clear.
