2013 Sydney Royal Easter Show

Kim Martin is pictured on the move riding, Raymond and Michelle Haber's, 'Saravale Focused' to win the class for Novice Show Hunter 14-14.2hh.They went on to win the Open Show Hunter Galloway 14.2-15hh and claim the Galloway Show Hunter Reserve Championship.

Ten year old, Isabelle Aylward rode her good working 14 year old, 'Tranquill Park Zig Zag' to take sixth place in the class for Novice Show Hunter Galloway 14-14.2hh It was a very good effort at her first ever Sydney Royal as a competitor.

Summa Jade rode Glenda Lovell's, 'Glenian Park Rare Delight' to take fourth place in the class for Open Pony 12.2-13hh.

Lyn Warburton's well performed, 'Rosedale Songster' worked well for Chanele Hunter and took sixth place in the class for Open Pony 12.2-13hh.

Jess Marnie from South Australia rode Marcia Beard and Charlotte Scott's,'Tallyrand Something Special' to produce an outstanding workout for second place in the class for Open Pony 12.2-13hh. It was a nice double for Marcia as she rode her, Best Novice Pony, 'Rhyl Minuet' to win the class.

Elizabeth Howard rode her ,'Hunterview Radiance' to win the classes for Novice and Open Show Hunter Galloway 14.2-15hh and they also took out the Best Novice Show Hunter Galloway award.

Bronwen parker rode Owen Parker's, 'Midwave Resistance' to take second place in the class for Novice Show Hunter Galloway 14.2-15hh.

Lynda Hayes rode the very well performed Hayes and Bragg nomination, 'Kolbeach Promise' to win the class for Open Pony 13-13.2hh

The Carlingford Park Riding Ponies, Tomlinson, Glover and Robb nomination, 'Carlingford Park Sweet Embrace' took fourth place in the class for Open Pony 13-13.2hh.

Victorian combination, Nirrelle Somerville and 'Kolbeach Bells' took second place in the class for Open Ponies 13-13.2hh.

Adam Oliver riding his own and Janice Elliott's beautiful, 'High Fashion' won the class for Gent Riders 21-40 Years and went on to be declared Champion Gentleman Rider.

The prestigious Col AV Pope Cup this year was judged by the Hack judge, Pam Barratt from SA and also the Thoroughbred judge, Janelle Freedman from Victoria. In previous years only the winner was announced, but this year, the top three were declared. Indya Povey is pictured aboard her successful El Moxie gelding, 'Lynham Park Jimmy Choo' that took third place in the Pope.

The Pope Cup numbers were back to what was seen in the good old days. The scheduling of the class for horses showing Thoroughbred qualities, as the first Open Hack class of the show saw 51 of the 71 nominations enter the ring. Dale Plumb's 'DP Amazing' is a former winner and today with Heidi Pickstock in the saddle, the beautiful horse took second place.

Julie Crisp from the ACT rode her lovely, 'Holly's Work of Art' to win the class for Open Ponies 13.2-14hh.

Martha Ulm had another successful day at Sydney with her own and Penny Cobbold's super successful, 'Kolbeach Chanting'. The seven year old mare by Fernleigh Fine Print out of Oldcourt Balikika won the class for Child's Pony 12.2-14hh for the second year running. Chanting, that has been Sydney Champion Large Pony twice has earned her fourth appearance in the Large Pony Championship ride off. Sydney will be Chanting's last show as the typey mare is already in foal to Royalwood Boy Soprano.

The Crane Trophy for mares "Showing a percentage of thoroughbred qualities" is now for mare 15-16hh as opposed to 14.2-15.2hh of days gone by. Again the top three were named and Louise Barton from Queensland took second place with her beautiful, 'Mascara'.

Bridget Sell is pictured aboard her own and Belinda Scanlon's, 'Alkyra Elegance' that took third place in the Crane Trophy.

Michael Christie rode Mrs A Doyle and the Daisy Patch Stud's successful Truly Time mare, 'DP Ophelia' that took out the 2013 Crane Trophy.

Josephine Indrizzi from WA is pictured with her, 'Yartarla Park Show Piece' that took out the Novice and Open Pony 12-12.2hh double.

Zoe Murray rode Phoebe Sutton-Kouros' well performed, 'Radford Lodge Sweet Dreams' to win the class for Open Pony 11.2-12hh.

Keeley Thomas makes a delightful picture with her mother, Jacqui McGregor-Thomas', 'Powys Heavenly Bliss' that won the class for Open Pony N.E. 11.2hh.

The always elegantly dapper, Mark Tarrant took second place in the class for Gentleman Riders Over 40 years.

Earlier in the day, Nicole Riemer rode her, 'Meteor Showers' to take second place in the class for Novice Show Hunter Galloway 14-14.2hh.This afternoon, Matthew Snell stepped aboard and won the Gent's Hunter Galloway class with the well performed horse. Matthew also took out Reserve Champion Gent rider aboard a slightly large mount.

Greg Mickan is pictured aboard his own, Terry van Heythuysen and Sarah Berry's 'Langtree Masterpiece' that won the class for Open Show Hunter Galloway 14-14.2hh.

Melise Tuma-Webb rode her home bred Australian Stock Horse, 'MJ Fortune' (Win D Fortitude/MJ Arizona) to win the Lady's Show Hunter Galloway class and go on to claim the Show Hunter Galloway Championship.

Well known dressage rider and Grand National Supreme Champion Senior Rider, Robbie Soster won the class for Novice Lady Rider 21-40 Years.

Annabel Mulready rode her lovely , 'DP Mayfair' to win the class for Open Lady Rider 17-21 Years.

Jane Gardner won the class for Lady Rider Over 40 Years and went on to take out the Lady Rider Reserve Championship.

Alex Berwick had a great day today. She rode her own and Sarah McMaster's outstanding, 'Xlerate' by Zabeel to claim the Col AV Pope Cup. Later in the day Alex won the class for Lady Rider 21-40 Years and went on to be declared Champion Lady Rider.

Stephanie O'Connor from Seaforth in NSW won the class for Novice Lady Rider 17-21 Years.
