The prestigious Col AV Pope Cup this year was judged by the Hack judge, Pam Barratt from SA and also the Thoroughbred judge, Janelle Freedman from Victoria. In previous years only the winner was announced, but this year, the top three were declared. The Pope Cup numbers were back to what was seen in the good old days. The scheduling of the class for horses showing Thoroughbred qualities, as the first Open Hack class of the show saw 51 of the 71 nominations enter the ring. Dale Plumb's 'DP Amazing' is a former winner and today with Heidi Pickstock in the saddle, the beautiful horse took second place.

Martha Ulm had another successful day at Sydney with her own and Penny Cobbold's super successful, 'Kolbeach Chanting'. The seven year old mare by Fernleigh Fine Print out of Oldcourt Balikika won the class for Child's Pony 12.2-14hh for the second year running. Chanting, that has been Sydney Champion Large Pony twice has earned her fourth appearance in the Large Pony Championship ride off. Sydney will be Chanting's last show as the typey mare is already in foal to Royalwood Boy Soprano.
The Crane Trophy for mares "Showing a percentage of thoroughbred qualities" is now for mare 15-16hh as opposed to 14.2-15.2hh of days gone by. Again the top three were named and Louise Barton from Queensland took second place with her beautiful, 'Mascara'.

Stephanie O'Connor from Seaforth in NSW won the class for Novice Lady Rider 17-21 Years.
