2013 Sydney Royal Easter Show

Sharon Slater jumped two beautiful clear rounds, the only one to do so, aboard her talented and imported Lux gelding,'CP Ulixes' to win the Sydney Royal Grand Prix/World Cup Qualifier. See Sharon in action and hear her interview on the website.

Earlier in the show, Des Russell's imported stallion, Valhalla won the Part 1 prestigious EA Cup. With Jamie Kermond as usual in the saddle the handsome grey horse jumped the Sydney Harbour Bridge in spectacular fashion during the Sydney Royal Easter Show Grand Prix/World Cup Qualifier. They jumped clear and four for third place. Jamie also took second place riding Yandoo Laughton's Legacy that jumped four and clear in a faster time. Laughton's Legacy was one of only two horse to post a clear second round of the eight to start.

Tom McDermott is pictured aboard the Tripp family's, 'CP Romantic Dream' in classic pose. Pinky was just a little tired at the end of a long run of shows that included a trip to New Zealand. They had a couple of uncharacteristic fences down for fourth place in the Sydney Royal Easter Show Grand Prix/World Cup Qualifier.

Ally Lamb from Gippsland in Victoria jumped one of just three first round clears aboard her, 'Penrose'.A little loss for form in the second round saw them finish the World Cup Qualifier in seventh place.

Brook Campbell makes a lovely jump aboard Lesley Hargeraves' stylish imported stallion, 'Copabella Visage'. They jumped a good four penalty first round over Werner Deeg's forward and related and testing World Cup track to take eighth place.

Hilary Scott looks a picture of concentration aboard the Oakes Sport Horses', imported mare, 'Oaks Miss Scarlet' during the first round of the Royal Easter Show Grand Prix/World Cup Qualifier. They jumped a good four penalty first round to take ninth place.

Nic Carraro and his 'Colombo' were one of the less experienced combinations at World Cup level in the Qualifier today. They jumped a good round just lowering two of the sensitive fences for a total of eight penalties.

Matthew Afford from South Australia jumped a super World Cup first round aboard his tall and talented, 'Kaluna Thunderstruck' for just the addition of one time penalty. The second round was not quite so good and they finished in sixth place.

Queensland rider, Sheridan Manuel jumped a super round aboard his mother, Lisa Manuel's talented Paint, 'Renmarno' for the addition of just one time penalty. They finished the class in fifth place.

Popular and successful NSW rider and trainer, Dave Cameron is pictured aboard his 'Tarwin Grave Sydney' during the first round of the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Amanda Madigan is pictured aboard the Oakes Sport Horses', imported Darco Mare, 'Oakes Altes' (the 2012 winner) during the first round of the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Jamie Kermond has had a successful show in Part 3 riding the Yandoo Equestrian Services', Balou du Rouet' gelding and former DJWTS Champion young Showjumper. They are pictured during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix today. Jamie also rode Des Russell's Casall la Silla stallion, Cracas out of Colthage to take third place in the class. The points were enough to give Caracas the title of Champion part 2 Horse.

Jennifer Mitchell and her, 'Sweetshot' are both focused on and already committed to the double just five strides away. They are pictured during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Stephen Hill from Clunes in Victoria makes a great start to the Kevin Bourke Memorial Grand Prix aboard his impressive ,'Yalambi's Bellini Star' by Conquistador.

Andrew Inglis rode Danielle Butcher's,'Twins Quantum' to fifth place in the exciting Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Lachlan Manuel and 'Congranda' jump in to the third and costly double during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Chris Chugg and his Vivant mare, 'Diamond B Vegas' make a beautiful start to their first round in the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix. They jumped a super double in the class and had to settle for second place by 0.28 of a second.

Bridget Hansen adds some colour to the occasion as she and her, 'Shakespeare NZPH' concentrate on the next fence during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Europe's loss is Tom McDermott's gain. Tom is pictured making a spectacular start to the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix riding the imported young Lord Pezi mare,'Laguna Beach' that jumped two great rounds to win the class and claim the award for Champion Part 3 Horse. Laguna Beach also claimed the Julie Wilson Photography prize for Best Performed young Jumping Horse of the Show as swell as the Samuel Horden Trophy for Jumping Horse of the Show. As was to be expected, Tom took out for the third year running , the ES Playfair Trophy for Most Successful Rider in Jumping Competitions.

Maureen Pengelly from Victoria has had a very successful show. She drove her own and Kerry Buckleigh's, 'Crosswinds Houdini' in a Sydney Brass Sulky to take out the Pony Sulky/Buggy Turnout Championship.

Caroline Blakeley drove the Blakeley Family and C & T Rolls impressive 'Peggy' to take fifth place in the very strong class for lady's Light/medium/Heavy Delivery Horse.

Amanda Taylor is pictured driving her Medium Delivery winner, the impressive, 'Manildra Lodge Rose' during the Delivery Horse Championship drive off.

Greta Stanfield,with Terry Goodear along as groom this time, drove The Clydesdales Promotions Australia's 'Boots' to win the class for Lady's Light/Medium/Heavy Delivery Horse.

Dean and Esmay Rheinberger's 'Benwerrin Park Cabe' took second place in the class for Lady's Light/Medium/Heavy Delivery Horse.

Robyn Anderson drove the Andrew James and Corrine Collins nomination, 'Kimba Krisp' to take out the Reserve Champion Harness Shetland Pony Turnout.

The charming Oakford, Reeve and Gorton nomination, Pilinta Park Fourpence' is pictured during the judging of the Shetland Pony Turnout Championship.

Sandy Hunter is pictured driving Ross Porter's, 'Billy',winner of the Light Delivery Horse class,during the Delivery Horse Championship drive off.

Phillip Robertson drove the C Perdikaris and Family's,'Ingleside Flash Dancer' to take out the Delivery Horse Reserve Championship.

Esmay Rheinberger drove her own and Dean Rheinberger's, 'Strawberry Field's Darcy' to win the Heavy Delivery class and take out the Delivery Horse Championship.

Wendy Ragg drove the Ragg, Proctor and Collins nomination,the delightful little stallion, 'Krystal Park Limited Edition' to claim the Mary Willsallen Perpetual Trophy for Supreme Champion Turnout.
