Earlier in the show, Des Russell's imported stallion, Valhalla won the Part 1 prestigious EA Cup. With Jamie Kermond as usual in the saddle the handsome grey horse jumped the Sydney Harbour Bridge in spectacular fashion during the Sydney Royal Easter Show Grand Prix/World Cup Qualifier. They jumped clear and four for third place. Jamie also took second place riding Yandoo Laughton's Legacy that jumped four and clear in a faster time. Laughton's Legacy was one of only two horse to post a clear second round of the eight to start.

Tom McDermott is pictured aboard the Tripp family's, 'CP Romantic Dream' in classic pose. Pinky was just a little tired at the end of a long run of shows that included a trip to New Zealand. They had a couple of uncharacteristic fences down for fourth place in the Sydney Royal Easter Show Grand Prix/World Cup Qualifier.

Brook Campbell makes a lovely jump aboard Lesley Hargeraves' stylish imported stallion, 'Copabella Visage'. They jumped a good four penalty first round over Werner Deeg's forward and related and testing World Cup track to take eighth place.

Nic Carraro and his 'Colombo' were one of the less experienced combinations at World Cup level in the Qualifier today. They jumped a good round just lowering two of the sensitive fences for a total of eight penalties.

Matthew Afford from South Australia jumped a super World Cup first round aboard his tall and talented, 'Kaluna Thunderstruck' for just the addition of one time penalty. The second round was not quite so good and they finished in sixth place.

Queensland rider, Sheridan Manuel jumped a super round aboard his mother, Lisa Manuel's talented Paint, 'Renmarno' for the addition of  just one time penalty. They finished the class in fifth place.

They are pictured during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix today. Jamie also rode Des Russell's Casall la Silla stallion, Cracas out of Colthage to take third place in the class. The points were enough to give Caracas the title of Champion part 2 Horse.

Tom is pictured making a spectacular start to the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix riding the imported young Lord Pezi mare,'Laguna Beach' that jumped two great rounds to win the class and claim the award for Champion Part 3 Horse. Laguna Beach also claimed the Julie Wilson Photography prize for Best Performed young Jumping Horse of the Show as swell as the Samuel Horden Trophy for Jumping Horse of the Show.  As was to be expected, Tom took out for the third year running , the ES Playfair Trophy for Most Successful Rider in Jumping Competitions.
