2009 Adelaide Royal Show

Mounted steward, Vicki Hurst's 'Rondoro Chelsea', is one of the most popular attractions at the show and the lovely and impressive mare gives many show goers the opportunity to get close up and personal with a 'soft' horse.

Jeremy Roberts from Melbourne looks appropriately delighted to have taken out the class for Three Year Old Riding Pony Filly NE 14.1hh with Sheree Temby's, 'Mirinda Contessa'. The typey mare by Ninfield Minks Supreme out of Mirinda Dresden went on to be declared Reserve Champion Riding Pony Fully.

Brittney Dudley rode the Whistlejackets Stud's, 'Wesswood In Vogue' to fifth place in a strong class for Child's Galloway.

The successful, 'Keanbree De Ja Vu' has been pictured on the website but until now has not appeared with his owner, Sophie Grose. The charming combination took second place in the class for Child's Galloway.

Emily Dennis from Port Lincoln claimed the Child's Galloway class with her delightful, 'Lawlington Park Rendition'.

An attractive pair of judges, Sally Miller, (Galloways and Small Ponies) and Raymond Butler (Large Ponies).

Riley Baker rode Nicole Riemer's well performed, 'Deeplake Fascination' to second place in the class for Child's Pony NE12hh.

The Douglas Family from Wallacia in NSW have had a super show with their 'Diamonds Of Tuscany'. With Brandon Douglas back in the saddle the successful pony won the class for Child's Pony Hack NE12hh.

Kaitlin Clark from Gawler is pictured riding her ex Amanda Madigan jumper, 'Philadelphia' in the first round of the Junior Jumping class this morning.

Kristie Ansell from Sippy Downs in Queensland was successful in the Junior class this morning. She took third place riding 'SSH Couture' and fourth place riding her 'Top Secret' (pictured).

Kurt Siviour from Port Broughton in South Australia jumped a clear first round in the Junior class this morning riding his 'Powerball'.

Julie Lloyd is on the move with Alyson Emery's Champion Riding Pony Stallion/Colt, 'Naaman Romeo' (Myscal Encore/Janpril Park Valentina).

Chris Lawrie is never out of step. Chris is pictured with the Argyl Stud's Reserve Champion Riding Pony Stallion/Colt, 'Kolbeach Royalist' (Camargue Tribute imp/Ardenhall Royal Secret imp).

Paige Jardine from Nichols Point in Victoria rode her well named, 'Terrific' to win the Junior Jumping class this morning.

Jaclyn Zipple from Port Lincoln and her 'Kaluna Active' put in a big effort to post a clear first round in the Junior Jump Off class this morning.

Jackie Boyd drove Anne Lindh's pair, 'Beauwood Maxi' and 'Penndower Protea' to win the S. Kidman and Co Prize for Tandem Team of Horses, Galloways or Ponies.

David Qyayle is pictured with Sally Redpath's, 'Chippenham Titled' (Royal Command of Beckworth/Gazelle) that won the class for Riding Pony Gelding Four Year and Over 13.2-14.2hh. The Pony also proved his worth under saddle by taking out the Best Novice Pony Hack award earlier in the show.

Lucinda Fraser from Colac in Victoria is pictured with her Champion Riding Pony Gelding and Supreme Led Riding Pony, the two year old, 'Holly's Tribute' (Fernleigh Fine Print/Holly of Springtime imp).

Darren Telford braved the Adelaide chill to show Christine Comley's, 'Rosedale Songstar' (Rosedale Tempting/Rosedale Serenity) that claimed the Riding Pony Filly Championship.

Bridgette Chalmers made a lovely picture riding Ashley Reid's, 'Weston Park Cointreau' to take third place in the class for Child's Pony 13-14hh.

Beau Cunning was another Queenslander to brave the Adelaide chill. The well performed young rider rode Cherrie Uchtman's Reserve Champion Open Large Pony Hack to claim the Reserve Champion Child's Pony Hack award.

Robert Atkinson from Sterling North makes a super jump with his, 'Finke' during the first round of the Rae and John Brice Grand Prix.

Lily McEvoy is having one of those shows. Today the winner of the Girl Rider 12-14 Years took out the Simpson Family Prize for Champion Junior Rider Under 14 Years.

Kira-Lee Newman from Noosa in Queensland won the class for Girl Riders 10-12 Years and went on to claim the Simpson Family Prize for Reserve Champion Junior Rider Under 14 Years.

Talking about pressure! Graham Elliott's very successful, 'Kolbeach Promise' has been produced by Linda Hayes from the beginning of her career. During that time the beautiful mare has only been shown by Linda. That is until today, when Tamara Lee stepped aboard to win the class for Child's Pony Hack 13-14hh and take out the Child's Pony Hack Championship. Promise went beautifully for Tamara, which is a testament both to her good riding and Linda's excellent training.

Coco Miles from Maroota in NSW and her talented, 'Tiqulja' jumped two good rounds over Course Designer, Gerrit Becker's strong Grand Prix track today for a total of nine penalties.

Emily Blinkworth and her sensational 'CP Romantic Dream' (known to her friends as Pinky) jumped three super clear rounds to take second place in the tough John and Rae Brice Adelaide Royal Grand Prix.

Michelle Clarke made it a family affair by winning the John and Rae Brice Grand Prix, riding John Brice and Tim Clarke's beautiful and stylish Grannus II stallion, 'Belcam Gambler'. Michelle is the daughter of long time South Australian showjumping supporters, John and Rae Brice.

Matthew Afford from Waikerie and his successful , 'Kaluna Thunderstruck' jumped very well to take fourth place in the John and Rae Brice Adelaide Royal Grand Prix. They had just one fence down for the competition, (the last in the jump off!)

The effort the Allen family has put in to produce jumping horses is really beginning the bear fruit. Becky Allen is pictured aboard the homebred, 'RSB Ruff' by Track out of the Allen's successful jumping mare, Summer Bay. They took fifth place in the Group 3 One Round class late this afternoon.
