There was a sense of deja vu when Paul Austin stepped in to the ring with, 'Chicago'. The former Adelaide Royal Champion Hack (with owner Tess Hughes in the saddle) took fourth place in the class for Open Hack Over 16hh. A little later in the day Paul and his favourite horse, 'Chicago' worked a treat to take second place in the Gent's Hack class.
Maddy Sears rode the Sears and Unsworth nomination, 'The Soloist' to third place in the class for Open Hack Over 16.2hh.

Lee Traynor rode her typey and well put together, 'Armstrong', an ex racehorse by Hurricane Sky, to win the Highbury Cup for horses "showing Thoroughbred qualities". The Brisbane version of the Pope Cup was judged by Lindy Walker, with Lynden Hearn from Victoria judging all the other Hack classes.

With Michael Christie sidelined due to an injury, Darryl Hayes stepped aboard the Bailey, Christie and Lisa McCann nomination, 'Awards' to carry all before them at Brisbane. The Champion Novice Hack won the Open Over 16.2hh class and looking every bit like the Champion, claimed the Open Hack Championship as well.

Not to be outdone, Craig Porter rode the Porter and Baldwin Nomination, 'Mandella' to win the Gent's Hack class.
Patricia Arnold's much talked about 'Hot Shot Henry' won the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh and with a change of rider, Ashlee Christensen rode Henry to win the class for Open Hack 15.2-16hh and go on to take out the Queensland Hack Reserve Championship.
