2009 Melbourne Royal Show

Garryowen winner Lynda Hayes and Request. This was to be Linda's tenth and final year in this most prestigious Turnout class and despite being placed seven times, including third last year, she had never won, until today. It was certainly a wonderful way for the talented rider to finish her Garryowen decade.

David Warde was absoutley thrilled to win the Novice Galloway 14-14.2hh class with Wendy and Abby Ettershank's, 'Newington Etchings'. The mare by Brierdale Sequel went on to claim the Best Novice Galloway Award.

Michael Christie rode Tom and Julie Luxton's 'Riversea Park Repertoire' to fourth place in the class for Novice Galloway 14-14.2hh.

Mrs J Kellock's, 'Marena Brave Dance' took second place in the class for Novice Show Hunter 14-14.2hh.

Miss J Shandly's eye-catching, Chloble Park Millie' was fourth in the class for Novice Show Hunter 14-14.2hh.

Elise Williams rode her 'Kolbeach Marine' to win the class for Novice Galloway14.2-15hh.

Linda Danckert rode Rose McEvoy's, 'DP Exclusive' to third place in the class for Novice Hack 15-15.2hh.

Rebecca Farran rode Cecily Cornish's Arabian, 'Barnoolut Remini' to win the Novice Show Hunter 14.2-15hh and claim the Best Novice Show Hunter Galloway Award.

Danielle Pell is on the moce with her , 'Vancouver Park My Amour' that won the class for Novice Show Hunter 15-16hh.

The ever young, Helen Heagney rode her well performed, 'Ballydoyle' to second place in the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Early this morning Clint Bilson rode his, 'Tudor Park Alaska' to claim the Champion Gentleman Rider award, ans this afternoon they took fourth place in the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Taylah Arnott from Lara was delighted to win the J Pemberton Equestrian Turnout Class for Girls and Boys 12-15 Years.

Francesca Christie rode Christine Frost's lovely and impressive new Hack, 'SLM Prestige' to win the class for Novice Hack Over 16.2hh.

Late this afternoon, Leanne Donoghue made it back to back Pope Cup (for horses showing Thoroughbred qualities) victories with her own and Charlotte Scott's, 'Flawless'.

An in demand Michael Christie rode Pam Ahern,Warren Coyle and Howard Morris' 'Surely' to win the Novice 16-16.2hh Hack class and go on to claim the Best Novice Hack award.

Rebecca Richards rode B Richards and J Hadley's, 'Dymondz' to win the class for Novice Show Hunter over 16hh and claim the Best Novice Show Hunter Hack award.

It was an early start and a late finish today for Shae Hanger, with the Garryowen starting at 9am and the Best Novice Hack at 6.30pm. Shae is pictured with her, 'Bouvier' that won the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh. The 2008 Garryowen winner took sixth place this year riding her newly acquired, 'Highmont'.

Stephanie Barrington rode her 'LA to win the Lady Rider 18-21 Years and capped off a great morning by claiming the Champion Lady Rider title. A little earlier and dressed even more formerly, Stephanie was fifth in her first Garryowen and took out the Best Newcomer Award.
