NCHA Cutting Futurity

Michael Wilson from Gunnedah is better know in the campdraft arena but took out his second Snaffle Bit Futurity today riding Destinys Quest by Acres Destiny with a score of 143.

Jason Leitch from Springsure Qld was first out in the final of the Buffalo Ranch Australia Classic Challenge Final riding the Porter and Hutchison nomination, Oaks and Ashes. This young stallion, by Peptos Stylish Oak put on a wonderful performance to take the class with a score of 147.

Phill Dawson from Inverell had a good time last night riding Peter Trinke's stallion Reyn Storm (imp) to win the NCHA Derby. However, he was back in the saddle this morning riding Graham Ross's Peptos Stylish Oak to score 135 in the Buffalo Ranch Australia Classic Challenge Final.

Richard Webb from Illabo NSW rode Ian Watson's stallion, Cause And Effect to score 144 in the Buffalo Ranch Australia Classic Challenge Final and take third place.

Denise MacCallum-Campey looks to be having a good time riding the imported mare Royal Blue Boonsmal, which scored 142 in the Buffalo Ranch Australia Classic Challenge Final, for equal fouth place.

Graham Amos has recently returned from the USA after a number of years teaching the Americans horsemanship. He rode his own imported stallion Catskills by Highbrow Cat to seventh place in the Buffalo Ranch Australia Classic Challenge Final.

Except for the VIP area there was not a spare inch of space today in the old tin shed. It is not the most comfortable place to be as a spectator but it does have a great atmosphere. We were all told the event would move to the proposed new Tamworth Equine Center next year, but we have all heard this before.

Phil Dawson rode Lenore Holborow-Harvey's Dream Chaser by Playboy Roy, to take equal forth place with a score of 142 in the Buffalo Ranch Australia Classic Challenge Final. Lenore is a well know hack judge and former hack rider now well entrenched in the sport of cutting.

Scott Campbell from Tabletop NSW rode Dianne Bennett's Turpentine Acres by Acres Destiny to score 145.5 and take second place in the Buffalo Ranch Australia Classic Challenge Final.

Lori Mackay from Boggabilla NSW rode her Acres Desting gelding, Lookin For Acres to score 144 and take third place in the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby.

John Breckelman partnered One Duck An Acre by Acres Destiny to score 143 and take fourth place in the final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby.

Wayne Baumann from Werris Creek NSW rode Lights Out by Docs Argyle to score 145.5 and take second place in the final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby.

James Farquhar from Rolleston NSW rode Twin Oaks Diamond Tina by Dry Diamond to score 141 in the final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby. This was enough for sixth place, however James also won the Quest Appartments insentive prize (enouragement award determined by the judges) of 11 nights accomadation for the Futurity next year.

Nothing went right for Gary Braid of Koo Wee Rup Vic in today's final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby. Riding his Duntays Tanyas Weaving by Tanyas Freckles the timer had trouble with the timing equitment and Gary had trouble picking the best cows.

Mark Smith from Emerald Qld, rode Scartlett Lena by Playboy Roy to score 142.5 and take fifth place in the final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby.

Luke Schnitzerling from Stanthorpe Qld rode Buster Grove by Peptos Stylish Oak to score 136 in the final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby.

Mark Buttsworth from Kingroy Qld normally heads home from the NCHA Futurity with a healthy pay cheque. However, luck was not on his side this week end. He scored 132 in the final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby riding Yugilbar Roys Ranchero and 134 in the Classic Final riding Yugilbar O Peppy Roy.

Peter Schmack from Muswellbrook NSW capped of a wonderful week of showing with a win in the final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby. Riding Lil Tanyas Tiara by Tanyas Freckles Peter scored 149.

Martin Moran and Tri Star Short N Susie started well in the final of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby but a lost beast had them out of the money.

Rob Hodgman rode his own EB's Buffel by High Brows Doctor to score 145 and take fifth place in the NCHA Open Futurity.

John MItchell from Weatherford USA rode Tom Williamson and Jane Munro's One Moore Duck by One Moore Playboy to score 145.5 and take fourth place in the NCHA Open Futurity.

Corey Holden from Texas USA rode Stephen Websdale's Destiny Mr Chic by Acres Destiny to score 143 and take seventh place in the NCHA Open Futurity.

Russ Benson rode the Yulgulbar QH Stud's nomination of Yulgulbar Senorita Girl by the wonderful sire Playboy Roy to score 138 in the NCHA Open Futurity.

If the spectators in the stands were wondering why they were there, squashed in like sardines on uncomfortable cold wooden benches, Ian Francis and One Roan Peptos performance made it all worth while. A master of training cutting horses, Ian combined with Ken McCarthy's Peptos Stylish Oak Stallion, One Roan Peptos to produce a wonderful performance with a score of 149. However, this was only good enough for second place in the NCHA Open Futurity.

Todd Graham from Taroom Qld rode One Stylish Pepto by Peptos Stylish Oak to score 142.5 and take eighth place in the NCHA Open Futurity.

Graham Amos from Dubbo rode the Crick Family's Scotalotapep by Smart Little Scotty to score 144 and take 6th place in the NCHA Open Futurity.

Jill and John Farnham had had their ups and downs over the week with their team of horses, however they keep the best until last. Riding to perfection, Graham Amos partnered the Chance Lodge homebred gelding, Giovannis Simpatico by Freckles Fortissimo to score the highest score of the week, 152 to win the the NCHA Open Futurity.

A busy Graham Amos rode the Playboy Roy mare, Playin With Roses to score 146.5 and take third place in the NCHA Open Futurity. Playin With Roses is exhibited by Kathy Hauenstein from California (USA).

Rob Hodgman from Pinkett NSW rode EB's Mainstreet by Docs Spin City to score 142 in the NCHA Open Futurity.
