2011 Sydney Easter Royal Show

Phillipa Lawson and her 'Hazelton Park Extreme' were members of the fifth place Area I Pony Club Jumping Team and Phillipa was declared the Best Girl Rider in the Pony Club Jumping, as judged by Chris Chugg. Jake Hunter was declared Best Boy Rider.

Brandon Beneke and 'Aloha Desert Berry' were member of the fifth placed Pony Club Jumping Team.

Emma Botfield and her 'Everything Equine Bella' are pictured jumping a first round clear to help Area 3 win the Pony Club Teams Jumping competition.

Jock Rice-Ward and 'River Wind' jumped a first round clear to help Area 4 (Western NSW) take equal second place in the Pony Club Teams Jumping competition.

Stephanie Groves and her 'Sirocco's Quest' were members of the fourth placed Area 2 Team in the Pony Club Teams Jumping competition.

Stephanie Judd and her 'Star Observer' were members of the equal second placed Area 5 Team in the Pony Club Teams Jumping competition.

Madeleine McDonald and 'HF Fiora' jumped a good first round clear to help Area 5 to equal second place in the Pony Club Teams Jumping competition.

Emily Evans and 'At All Times' were members of the sixth placed Area 6 Team in the Pony Club Teams Jumping competition.

Jamie Priestly, granddaughter of well know Course Designer, Warren Priestly, is pictured aboard her 'On The Dark Horse' for the Area 6 Pony Club Show Jumping Team.

The Zone 19 Team put on a super performance to win the class for Pony Club Flat Teams, Riders Under 13 Years. The Team comprised, Matilda Harry, Jamie-Lee Jeffrey, Michael Crawley and Dylan Smith.

Brook Stevenson has had a busy and successful Show. She is pictured with the Bamborough Pony Stud and the Stevenson Family's 'Bamborough September Song' (Fairlight Acres Kidman/Bamborough Sierra) that won the class for part Welsh Pony Mare Four Years and Over N.E 13hh.

Macy Reen from Zone 23 was delighted to take third place in the class for Pony Club Rider Under 11.

Dylan Smith representing Zone 19 won his Open Rider class earlier in the show and today won the class for Pony Club Rider Under 11 Years. Dylan rode his wonderful 23 year old 'Bido Playfair' that was a successful show pony in his day. The Smith family have had the pony for 12 years, one year longer than they have had Dylan.

Matthew Gavin led the Koorana Pony Stud's 'Koorana Final Scene' (Koorana Greylight/Cameo Park Simone) to win the class for Australian Pony mare 12.2-13hh, claim the Mare Championship and go on to take out the award for Supreme Led Australian Pony..

Anthony Hurley did the leading and Makaylah McMaster rode Gayna Harvey's, 'Corvan Park Miss Attitude' to take second place in the Leading Rein Pony Class.

Michelle Panetta makes her way through the mud with Jenna Bragg riding Michelle's 'Merival Park Angel's Song' during the class for leading Rein Pony.

Warren Dalley is an experienced and successful leading Rein leader. He is pictured with a delighted Piper Passeri riding Tatum Bradley's 'Glenlynton Winter Lily' that won the class for Leading Rein Pony.

Chinade Laine looks thrilled to have taken fourth place in the Leading Rein Pony class riding Pippa Ayrton's 'Creswell Hansel'. Or is she thrilled with the soft toy awarded to all placegetters.

Andrew Buckley did the honours with Belinda James' 'Roseden Beyond Expectations' (Wedgenock Coffee Pot/Hawthorne Bella Donna) to take out the award for Reserve Champion Part Welsh Stallion/Colt.

Kristian Akehurst does his best to show off the super movement of his own and Chris Akehurst's, 'Gem Park Orlando' (Langtree Connisseur/Little Paddocks Diva) that added the Part Welsh Stallion/Colt Championship to the Riding Pony title earned earlier in the show.

Daniel Harvey did the honours with the Koora-Lyn Australian Ponies and L Hohlweck's 'Koora-Lyn Cossack' (Koora-Lyn Little Chief/Koorana Natasha) that won the class for Australian Pony Stallion Four Years and Over N.E. 12.2hh and went on to be declared Champion Australian Pony Stallion.

Jason Phillips led the Gundarimbah Pony Stud's 'Koora-Lynn Magestic' (Fairlight Acres Kestrel/Koora-Lynn Samantha) to win the class for Australian Pony Colt Three Years and Under N.E.14hh. and go on to be declared Champion Junior Australian Pony.

The Zone 26 Team, comprising, Rebakah Hogan, Emily Lambert, Brontai Sams and Georgia Thorpe won the class for Pony Club teams for riders 13-17 Years.

Adam Maitland rode the Dior Lodge Show Horses, Willowbrae Stud and K Borg's 'Willowbrae Varekai' (Dresden Ace of Spades/Rothwell Lovelight) to second place in the class for Ridden part Welsh Stallion, during one of the many showers of rain.

Haydon Cleary rode Lorraine Cleary and Bernadette Hellessey's, 'Crannellie Da Vinci' (Courtland Boy Blue/Willowbrae August) to win the class for Ridden Australian Pony Stallion.

Charlotte Chambers rode 'With All My Heart' to second place in the class for Pony Club Rider 13-15 Years.

Laura Tremain from Tamworth rode 'Yagoneya Tech Magic' to win the class for Pony Club Rider 13-15 Years and take out the Reserve Champion Pony Club Rider Under 17 Years Reserve Championship.

Natasha Anjoul rode 'Rothwell Highclere' to win the class for Pony Club Rider 15-17 Years.

Kelly Hamblin from Benalla in Victoria was thrilled to take out the Ridden Australian Pony Championship with her home bred, 'Toolleen Amity Jane' (Owendale Sir Donald/Toolleen Amelia).

Award sponsor Peter Taubman was delighted when his own and the Rath Family's 'Amaranda Gleam' (Imperial Jaguar/Amaranda Madam Goulash) was declared Reserve Champion ridden Australian Pony. The lovely pony , shown by Kim Rath was also declared Reserve Champion Led Australian Pony Mare.

Tess O'Connor from Terry Hills rode 'Valentino's Embrace' to win the class of Pony Club Rider 11-13 Years and out ride her senior peers to take out the Pony Club Rider Under 17 Years Championship. Tess was awarded the inaugural George D Scales Memorial Perpetual Trophy donated by the Scales and McIntyre Families.

This is an artists representation of the Sydney arena after the proposed work to begin immediately the show finishes. The entire arena will be bigger and entirely resurfaced back to its original glory and the covered grandstands increased. The arena will be the home ground for the new AFL Team, Greater Western Sydney; the goal posts are pictured. We are told the redevelopment will not reduce any of the horse facilities and or horse events at future shows.
