On a quiet Thursday morning on the main arena, Troy Wilson from Bega won the class for Open Junior Gentleman Rider

Well known and successful showing competitor, Mark Kenzig won the class for Open Gentleman Rider 21-40 years and went on to take out the John Kelly Memorial Trophy for Champion Gentleman Rider. It was Mark's fourth Sydney Royal Championship.

Billie McEvoy rode Jan Jennison's, 'Tara Park Lilli' to second place in the class for Open Shetland Pony (Hack).

MarkTarrant has had success in the showing arena for many years and he continued his impressive record today. Mark won the class for Gentleman Rider Over 40 years and went on to be declared Reserve Champion Gentleman Rider.

Sandy Parker is well known as the Australian Equestrian Team farrier, and accompanies our international teams whenever they attend Olympic Games or World Championships. Sandy too is very capable in the saddle and took second place in the class for Gentleman Rider Over 40 Years.

Melinda de Rooy rode her own and Judith de Rooy's, 'Saradale Conquests' to take second place in the class for Novice Pony 13.2-14hh.

On a very quiet Thursday morning, with all the harness and jumping horses on their way home, Michael Christie rode Allan Dillingham's lovely Ali-Royal mare, 'Royal Affair' to win the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Chanele Hunter rode the McMahon and Mc Cormick Family's home bred, 'Leanda Hello There' to second place in the class for Novice Pony 13-2hh.

Dale Plumb rode his Bianconi mare, 'DP Velvet' to take second place in the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Alex Berwick from Upper Beaconsfield rode her appropriately named 'Charming' to take fifth place in the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Roz Lipp from Queensland won the Thorougbred Gelding class at Canberra Royal with her beautiful and big, 'Kholo' and began her Sydney campaign well by taking out the class for Novice Hack Over 16.2hh. The gelding by Clang was a good racehorse and trained by Roz's husband.

Tanya Heathcote rode her own and Cherie Mills', 'Irreplacable' to third place in the class for Open Hack Over 16.2hh.

Lisa McCann from Victoria rode her eye catching, 'Dignified' to second place in the class for Novice Hack Over 16.2hh.

Tammy Notman from Lancefield in Victoria rode her 'Triage' to fifth place in the class for Novice Hack Over 16.2hh.

Melissa Oven rode her 'Laser Epic' to fourth place in the class for Novice Hack Over 16.2hh.

Andrea Bradley from Wagga Wagga was just out of the money in the Novice Over 16.2hh class with her impressive, (and perhaps a little secretive) '007'.

Tamara Parish rode N Scott and M Hall's good working, 'Kolbeach Garland' to second place in the class for Novice Pony 12-12.2hh.

Courtney Cremasco rode Leonie Cremasco's, 'Oakland Park Tuxedo' in the class for Novice Pony 12-12.2hh.

A handsome Rhys Stones rode the Johnson, Johnson-McNeil and Parker Family's, 'Democracy' to win the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh.

Successful young Victorian hacking exhibitor Georgia Cleeland, rode her well performed, 'Invermay Striking Bob' to measure down a height and take second place in the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh.

Yet another visitor from Victoria, Kim Joblin rode her 'SLM Skyte' to fourth place in the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh.

Yes, Shelley is from Victoria too! Well known and successful exhibitor, Shelley Penny rode her 'SP Jakarta' to third place in the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh.

David Warde rode his own and Julie Conti's beautiful mare, 'Dreamtime Oprah' to fifth place in the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh.

Louise Doyle from Goulburn in NSW rode her lovely home bred mare, 'DP Ophelia' by Truely Time to win the class for Novice Hack 15-15.2hh and go on to claim the Best Novice Hack award.

Louise Holland all the way from Busselton in WA rode her, 'Glomax Countryman' to second place in the class for Novice Hack 15-15.2hh.

Rachel Keskinen's Grand National Champion Small Hack, 'Request' took third place in the class for Novice Hack 15-15.2hh.

Isabella Bassett rode the Corvan Park and Seabreeze Showponies' charming mare, 'Corvan Park Realm' to win the class for Novice Pony 11-11.2hh.
