Bred for the job!. Jake Hunter from Singleton in NSW rode his 'Oh I Say' to take second place in the Junior Jumping class this morning; the first jumping class of the 2011 Royal Melbourne Show.

Jessica Hill from Clunes in Victoria rode her , 'Major Carn' to third place in the Junior Jumping class this morning.

Emma Kearney from Gatton in Queensland looks all concentration aboard her 'Double The Bank' as they gallop their way to victory in the first jumping class of the 2011 Melbourne Royal Show.

Amber Lil Scriven, who is travelling with former Victorian and now Queensland resident, Becky Allen, rode her 'Isle Be Taj' to fourth place in the Junior Jumping class on a very wet Grand Final day morning.

Tim Haworth from Mortlake in Victoria posted a clear round riding his 'Romsey' that is making a good job of this fence in the first Part 3 class of the show.

Andrew Lamb has taken the ride back from his wife Ally who had a good show with the Vivant gelding, 'Denison Park Argento' at Adelaide. Andrew jumped two good clear rounds, but was just out of the money. However, he made up for his lack of speed by winning the class riding his 'Dennison Park Ricarda'.

Brook Dobbin from Yarra Glen in Victoria got off to a good if wet start to his Royal Melbourne campaign. Brook is pictured riding, 'Glenwood Park Marjorie' that was fifth and he also took second place in the first Part 3 class of the show riding, Glenwood Park Premier Dollars' that is by the now sadly late, Premier des Hayettes.

Jess Stalling from Picton in NSW and her 'JS Vitina Z' make a beautiful jump on their way to fourth place in the first Part 3 jump off class for the 2011 Royal Melbourne Show.

South Australia rider, Matt Afford from Mallala is pictured riding his, 'Kaluna Salute' in the first Part 3 class of the 2011 Melbourne Show.

Jamie Kermond a member of the successful Yandoo Jumping Team from Ebenezer in NSW took third place in the first Part 3 class riding his own and Des Russell's promising 'Killeter Park Caracas', a stallion by Cassal la Silla out of Jamie's World Cup mare, Colthaga.

Jess Sciannimanica from Scianninamica in NSW and her, 'Cosmorex Coffee Latte' make a big jump on their way to posting a clear round in the very wet first Part 3 class of the show.

Well know Vet about town, Adam Johnston is pictured during the first round of the Part 3 jump off class this morning riding his, 'Rodd and Gunn'.

Jamie Grant from Bywong jumped a good clear round in the first Part 3 class of the show riding his, 'Anonymous' by Animate.

Melissa Froesch had great success at Melbourne Royal show riding her wonderful mare, Miss Cognac. It looks as if she will continue to have success with 'Glenara Bollinger' that is out of the mare. They are pictured jumping a clear round in the first Part 2 class of the show.

Successful Victorian jumping rider and businessman, Russell Hearn, has not lost his appertite for competition and is pictured riding his own and Bernadette Hearn's, 'Luxemburg' in the Part 2 jump off class.

Regular and successful Melbourne competitor, Phil Stephens is pictured aboard his 'Unleashed' in the Part 2 class on the first day of Jumping at the 2011 Melbourne Royal Show.

Vicky Roycroft has spent many happy times in the Melbourne Royal jumping arena and she is back again after an absence of a few years. Vicki is pictured riding the promising stallion, 'Noblewood Park Casino Royale' in the first Part 2 of the 2011 Royale.

Pascale Young from Western Australia has brought her good form over from Adelaide Royal, conducted just a couple of weeks ago. She rode her, 'Barabadeen Halifax' to jump two super rounds for second place in the Part 2 jump off class today.

Atlanta Olympian, and regular Melbourne Royal exhibitor, Russell Johnstone got his show off to a great start by jumping two slick rounds riding his , Borealis Centurion' to win the Part 2 class on a wet and windy Grand Final Day.

Well known international rider, David Dobson, who has been based in Perth for many years rode his 'Akon' to fifth place in the Part 2 class today.

But old habits die hard for the young woman who has had so much success at Melbourne, from Junior classes to World Cups. Andrew Inglis is pictured riding the impressive and imported Darco mare that is making a powerful jump over the triple bar during the Colin Kelly Memorial Part 1 class this afternoon. They jumped clear and four to take third place.

Tim, another rider who has been competing at Melbourne since his Junior days, jumped two clear rounds to win the Colin Kelly Memorial Part 1 class on his Adelaide World Cup winner.
