He was declared Champion Gentleman Rider and later in the day went on to win the Novice 15-15.2hh Hack class and from there to Best Novice Hack with his own and Belinda Scanlon's lovely 'Alkyra Elegance'. The mare is certainly "bred in the purple" for the showring as she is by Supreme Thoroughbred, Flamboyant out of the successful mare, Independence.
